I have now been using this for over a month and it still makes stripping copper wire fun! My favorite features of the StripMeister Original are the quick and easy adjustments for changing wire gauge and the versatility in mounting. I did not want to permanently attach this to my bench with wood screws – I simply place it in my vise or use 2 C-Clamps to fasten it in place when using. Quick to mount for use and quick to remove from my work area when not stripping wire. The build quality is great and i love that the settings don’t “drift over time – want to strip the same gauge wire for several hours? No problem – you won’t have to stop to keep adjusting the cutting depth. I wish I had bought this sooner!

works great. for.the price this thing is hands.down the thing to buy if you need to strip a lot of wire. I’m an electrician and after jobs we have srap wire and I save it. I have bags of it and I kept putting it off because I didn’t want to strip it. I saw this thing and had to buy it. glad I did. it even does #12. stripped 2 big black garbage bags in just a couple hours

Got the tool set up in quick fashion with my cordless drill. Did not attach it to a table. Adjusted the cutting wheel down to the wire I was stripping and hit the trigger. Wire fed itself through the guide to the cutter and out the other side in seconds. Lay wire out as straight as possible or ensure it won’t kink up. Very pleased.Word of caution…don’t settle cutter to deep or you’ll have frayed wires on multistrands.

I bought the machine to help in salvaging scrap house wiring, mostly pre-Romex and some from the 1920s. It is a dream for modern 10- and 12 gauge PVC-jacketed cable. As long as the cable doesn’t have loops or very short kinks, the process is almost effortless.Ancient, asphalt-impregnated cotton and fiberglass is more difficult, but still far easier than using a utility knife. The only cable which defeated it had two rubber-covered conductors, each spiral-wrapped in kraft paper along with its own jute twine, and those assemblies inside an asphalt impregnated, woven fiberglass jacket. The machine split the jacket, which was good, but didn’t help with the interior layers, except for the final rubbery wire insulation, which it did split for me, one conductor at a time after removal of the paper, twine and a ground wire of about 18 gauge! So far, I have accumulated aboiut 14 pounds of bare copper, taken from 10, 12 and 14 gauge cable, plus cotton-covered doorbell and thermostat wire , which usually needs some manual inife help. Lengths range from a foot or so up to 20-30 feet, where managing the becomes a bit awkward. Because the feed rollers and knife are both one-sided, there is some natural curl of the ourfeed, which can be a nuisance.Besides being useful, the machine is really fun to use and entertaining for both mechanically-inclined visitors and for small children!

I really appreciate that the tool works exactly as advertised. Easy as getting it out of the shipping box and watching a short startup video. Within minutes I was stripping a couple hundred feet of wire. Just watch the setup video and do exactly what it shows and you shouldn’t have any issues. The box the tool came in was pretty beat up from shipping I suppose, it does happen sometimes. The tool itself was protected very well within the box and came out factory perfect I’m happy to say. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to strip wire occasionally. 1. Knowing your putting a useful metal back into use. 2. Just for the fun of it. 3. You can get a little cash for your efforts.

It works so good. I didn’t watch the video like it says or read the manual. After my first 100’ or so of wire I decided to educate myself. Good value so far but will update if item performance changes!

I get a lot of wire when performing commercial demo’s. I have had this for about 2 weeks, stripped wire from 12awg. – large aluminum wire as large as a quarter, as long as it is set up properly it works without flaw. This item so far helped us to recycle over $1,000 in copper and aluminum wire and that was just in 2 weeks.

I love that it can just zip thru the wire like it’s not even there especially when u get it set just right, makes life so much easier

    Does what it should do
Although a bit more expensive than I wanted to pay, I bought this wire stripper solely on the sales video by stripmeister. I’m extremely happy with the product and would recommend it.

    Built well
Built solid …once you find the sweet spot…it works fantastic .still going strong after 4 ton of stripping copper coated wire
