This i4 Roomba is good at cleaning up the pet hair and it is consistent, once the map was learned. Yes, the clean out function at the end of each run is loud, like other reviews have said, but the tower unit does suck out all the junk from the robot’s bin. My issue is that I ordered this on July 9, it worked fine for about a month of four times a week cleaning, and then I paused it while we went on vacation, and by the first week of September, it was giving error code 2, clean the brushes. I dutifully cleaned the hair from the roller brush ends and removed the plastic roller caps and cleaned the hair spooled around the roller shaft, but discovered that the lighter green roller was not spinning at all because the metal axle had completely broken (it’s supposed to be sticking up out of the green roller, but it’s missing in the picture I’ve attached below). I called amazon support, was put on hold for 35 minutes, and then my call was “disconnected” after speaking with somebody about this problem. I called iRobot and they said their offices were closed (it was Labor Day weekend). I decided to order a new pair of roller brushes (the real iRobot parts are RIDICULOUSLY expensive, but I wanted to make sure I was using authentic parts), and that solved the problem! But it should’ve been covered under the warranty, and I should’nt have had to pay all that money for new roller brushes. I called iRobot support again a week later, and after 15 minutes of holding, a customer service rep took my information, and said they would ship me an entire new brush head module, since it was only two months since purchase. Then he put me on hold for a further seven mintues to “check with a manager,” and again, I was disconnected from the call. At least this time they did call me back, and told me that they would send out the new brush head module and it would arrive in seven to ten business days. We’ll see. I’m concerned that I’m doomed to keep ordering roller brushes. All told, it was almost $30 in the hole for new brushes and almost an hour on hold on the phone. Super hassle. If you have similar problems, don’t waste your time like I did and call amazon–go directly to iRobot support. I’ll update this post if I actually get the rollers in the time frame promised.

Works very well but we have 3 animals. We have to clean out the brushes and rollers at least 1-2 times a week. App isn’t perfect but it gets the job done. It does much better than the other robot vaccum we had. Good suction and it communicates via app.

This is my first Roomba. I had Eufy that finally wore out so I thought I’d try a self emptying and have heard great things about Roomba. I had some trouble getting the app to set up since I have 5G internet. It is not compatible but I realized I have 2 WIFI settings-one that is not 5G so was able to set up. I tried to run it for cleaning and it seemed to just want to stay in the laundry room and kitchen. It didn’t really go to other rooms in my house. My house is 1400 square feet and one level so I would think it would easily be able to clean it. I then decided to try the mapping and this is when all of the problems really started. Again, it was really only going into those 2 rooms but then I kept getting notified that the bumper was stuck. It would just be sitting in a random place. I might have to reboot it completely to get it started which meant taking it back to the base. Also, I tried to push the home button but it didn’t seem to recognize that. I’m assuming that would send it back to the base. I noticed it also spinning in circles a lot while trying to map. In the app it would say Returning Home but then if I paused and restarted, it would go back to mapping. It wasn’t returning home-it was still running so I’m not sure what was happening. I don’t know if its my internet or the Roomba. I’m going to try to exchange it to see if I just got a bad Roomba. I have a feeling this was not a brand new unit. The handle on the box that the Roomba unit was in was missing and that seemed strange to me. If the next one does the same thing, I will return it and maybe try another brand since my internet might be the issue. I will say from what I saw, that the suction seemed really good and the self emptying worked. Just too bad I had those problems. I’m hoping it was just a bad unit. It also is really too bad that it is not 5G compatible. That is information that should be made available before purchasing.Updating since I received the replacement. This one worked correctly right away. I’m glad I did the exchange to see if it was a bad unit. It has stayed connected to Wi-Fi and no strange errors. It’s finding all the rooms in my house and no longer spinning in a circle. I think it is definitely an upgrade for my old eufy.

This is my first robot vacuum, and I found this Roomba to be easy to set up and easy to use the app. We have two black cats, one with long hair and one with short. After running the first vacuuming job, I noticed that the Roomba swept up the cat fur, but didn’t suck it up. It rolled the fur into little bundles. I needed to use my upright vacuum to clean up the fur bundles after the Roomba was done. I changed the setting to have the Roomba do two passes instead of just one. This helped, but I still needed to use my other vacuum to finish the job. (See update below)I’m going to keep the Roomba because it works well overall. I would say that it’s perfect if you don’t have a pet with long fur. I was particularly impressed with how it transitioned from our carpeted areas to the areas with vinyl planking floor. I’m happy with the level of cleaning, the noise level, and how long it takes to vacuum our home (about 1000 sq ft of space in an hour and a half for two passes).Update: I’ve now been using the Roomba for a few weeks (3 days a week). Now that it is running on a schedule and has thoroughly cleaned our carpets, it’s able to keep up with the long cat hair; no need to pick up little bundles of fur. I’m very happy with this purchase!

Slow and steady wins the race. Product cleans the vinyl and the carpet pretty well. We do have pets. It’s a little loud when it returns to the station for an empty so my office wasn’t a great choice. Having to keep an eye on it right now, it’s climbing on desk struts and getting hung up. It’s easy to fix and I’m told it will work it out, learn as it goes.

So where to begin. This thing will vacuum everything! There is a certain height in our home where it normally gets stuck but it’s about a 2 inch height deal where we obviously block off now for Rambo. Rambo now does everything. He fits under our counter, table, sofa, book shelf, and with the small brush he does get a good portion of the corners. He maps out the house and with the app I can name the rooms and even have a shortcut on Siri to start once I say “This house is a mess Rambo!” Lol. And we have a newborn, so loudness of the self emptying is loud but put it on the opposite side of the house and close the door because it does get noisy. It’s only about 10 seconds but it does sound like an old style vacuum. Pro Tip: buy reusable vacuum bags with the zipper. Thank me later.

This has been our best product purchase ever! We have 3 dogs in our house, German Shepherd’s at that. Since we’ve had the Roomba (July 2023) I have only used our actual vacuum 2-3 times and dusting less. We just set the roomba to go when we leave the house and come home to a clean hair free floor. It goes from hardwood to carpet to tile and over our kitchen/living room threshold like a boss. Highly highly recommend as a cleaning dog hair lifesaver.

my previously white car-hair covered apartment is NO MORE. i would vacuum as normal several times per week but my apt was so covered in dust and cat hair. the dust comes from outside when i frequently have my windows open for fresh air. (with screens of course) but my grandkids were allergic to all that cat hair. so this Roomba- i love it. My entire apartment was vacuumed thoroughly the first day. but i find as Roomba explores more and more i’m actually tossing out stuff/random things which i don’t need because i love how clean my apartment is now. it’s only been a week. I ran the roomba several times a day at first to try it out. It doesn’t get stuck much unless it’s my fault like too many toys on the living room floor. Wow, so under my bed is amazingly so Clean! no more dust bunnies. it’s incredible. Roomba also pushed light objects around and i get them off the floor. it’s pretty quiet for a vacuum. i don’t bother using my large vacuum anymore. maybe just for if i need a long hose for any reason.I highly recommend! everyone and anyone considering it, to GET ONE. My whole family is literally breathing MUCH easier and now my kids can visit a clean and dust free apartment. and they are impressed and amazed and they live grandmas new apartment. the carpet looks amazing like it’s been vacuumed in beautiful “straight lines” where possible. it adapts to you moving furniture and things around also. it doesn’t need light. i love watching it vacuum around while i do other things.

This one is supposed to be great for pet hair, but my dog’s fur clogs it up a lot. I have to do constant clearing of clogs and bin emptying during the run, but I appreciate the rollers not getting all nastied up. I do like it better than my last roomba, so that’s an improvement.

I started out with a two-star review, but I have since revised my rating to ONE.This thing seriously never works. I have a standard 1800 sqaure feet first floor and this thing has NOT A SINGLE day cut the mustard. This thing has taken over as literally the number one instant notification I get on my phone. I’m at band rehearsal: trying to concentrate and BOOM this thing buzzes and needs to tell me “A job can not be completed”. By the way that’s what they should have called this thing the “JCNBC” from irobot.Literal daily trials with this machine:1. It will be in the middle of vaccuming and just stop, turn itself off, and sit listlss in the middle of your floor until you move it back to its base to recharge, even though this is not what was advertised2. When you move it back to its base it takes a few hours to recharge which may interfere with its own schedule, thus once in a while you will lose track of where the vacuum is and suddenly at the most inoportune time it will empty its own bag (loudly), so this thing has to constantly be babyset and attended to, just another electric device in my house demanding my attention.3. This thing insists on giving me daily alerts on how to maintain it, it will give me notifications i don’t need to know such as “a job was completed”, “a job cannot be completed, rhumba is stuck”., or “rhoomba rebooted”, all thiings that are nice but I don’t need to know about. I don’t want my life to revolve around a vacuum. well I can tell you after owning this thing for one month the thing literally needs daily mainenance and I wonder if it would be LESS worth my trouble to just vacuum myself.it only works on hard wood floors or tile. If you have carpet or any rugs you will have to vacuum them manually. If your entire house is carpeted then don’t buy it.As for how well it works on smooth floors:Forget about convenience. It works when it wants to. Wanna set it to vacuum the house as you are leaving for the day? Forget it. You open the app and get the “waiting to connect” message indefinitely – even if you turn your phone off and back on, reboot the app, uninstall it. It just doesn’t matter. The manner in which it works is pure voodoo…it works whenever it feels like it.I literally have to reboot the entire machine every day just to get it to work how it’s supposed to.Setting up the machine was a headache because it will only work with a 2.5ghz internet connection. If you don’t know how to change that setting on your router (which I didn’t, the WIFE just so happened to remember how to do that from when we bought the router) then you might as well not buy it, there is no way around this and no helpful instructions to help you with your own router either.Overall the machine works about 60 percent of the time. I have had it a week and still not ONCE been able to wake up, set it and forget it, leave and come back to a clean house. It takes several days (supposedly) to map out your house but trying to label and then get it to vacuum individual rooms is a complete fools errand. Won’t work. I exclusively use the “vacuum everywhere” command as it’s the only thing that seems to work.It takes two and a half hours for it to vacuum my house which is a normal sized kitchen, large dining room and living room, two bathrooms, and three bedrooms. It will only work when I am at home and can supervise it as it needs constant supervision. It gets stuck all the time. The children are afraid of it so I have to listen to them scream if i want it to vacuum. This is the only way to get a vacuumed house because, again, it just won’t work when I need it to. I have taken to every once in a while just opening the app at random and if it says “ready to vacuum” then I feel like buying a lottery ticket. That’s my experience. Overall not very impressed.
